Doha Fire Station Gallery

Hey Squaddies,
Being brought up in London, I often missed being able to go to art exhibitions and museums whilst living in Kuwait, where there were not many opportunities for young artists to showcase their talents, however this is not the case in Doha.
With plenty of art galleries, exhibitions and museums to visit I am pretty pleased that there are outlets for inspiration and culture all around the city. After having been to the ‘what about the art?’ exhibition at Qatar museum, my latest find was at the quaint Fire Station gallery. Offering modern art by local artists, a very creative space filled with lots of exciting pieces, such as the below.
You may have also seen the gigantic ‘O’ chair I am sitting in on our Instagram page by the talented Aisha Alsowaidi. If that wasn’t enough to convince you to go and visit, there is also the most adorable ‘Café 999’ with a delicious food menu, cakes and fresh juices.
I am always up for supporting local talent so I would definitely go back again. If you want to know more about the Firestation Gallery or Café 999, please see their Instagram page @dohafirestation.
